I did the colors, design and logo placement… I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! Looks like the old exploitation movie posters that hung up at the crappy video store in my hometown.

I’m doing colors for Tim Seeley’s web comic, Colt Noble and the Megalords! It’s funny, sexy and it looks great. I recommend checking out the entire first, 44-page story for FREE at Nerd City.

This is a drawing I did at the request of my buddy David Markland who runs an awesome, local, horror blog Creepy LA.I used it as an excuse to mess around with a different method of coloring. Something a bit closer to working with acrylics.

Here’s the cover for the most recent 40pg book I did for Rubicon Publishing! It was fun to play to my strengths, as it’s been awhile since I drew some straight-up superhero action!

Here’s a selection of interior pages from my most recent 40pg book for the fine folks at Rubicon Publishing. This was another book with a tight deadline and I was again handling pencils, inks and colors! I tried to up my game a little and it just about did me in, but I think it was worth it.

Here’s the character designs for the next 40pg kids book I did for Rubicon Publishing!

These actually went through some small revisions. Here, I removed the bully’s stubble:

Here’s the main character with “younger” looking glasses and a longer shirt. In the story, his father passed away and I wanted to imply that he had kept his father’s shirt and wore it every day.

Here’s the female friend with a more current style of dress. She actually appears in a quite a few different outfits in the book, but this is my favorite.

And finally, here’s the superhero in the book, The Hawk!

I tried to make the costume as simple and iconic as possible. I wound up losing the pirate boots and went with simpler, skin-tight boots in the final book.

To get the effect of a drawing, I just quickly draw the figure with no under drawing and then color it with a brilliant brush in Photoshop that kinda simulates those crappy color markers you get when you’re a kid.

I had a lot of fun designing these characters!

Here’s a few interior pages from Into the Deep, a 40 page comic book I drew and colored for Rubicon Publishing. I managed to do it all, including the cover, in about a month and a half. Special thanks to my fiancee, Beata, for helping with flatting!.
